HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR LIFE?

MEASURED IN SECONDS

“Your past may explain where you started, but your choices determine where you go.”

“One man’s story of hardship, service, family, failure, leadership, and reinvention—shared to help you examine your own life before time passes you by.”

THE MESSAGE

You Don’t Live Your Life in Years.

Years are how we count a life. Seconds are how we live one.

Careers change in seconds. Relationships change in seconds. Opportunities appear in seconds. Regrets begin in seconds. Courage happens in seconds. A different direction can begin in seconds.

CHOICES

Small decisions compound into direction.

PRESENCE

Don’t get so focused on the future that you miss the life happening now.

PURPOSE

Your starting line can shape you without deciding where you finish.

Wake up to your own life while you still have time.

THE BOOK

Measured in Seconds

This is not a blueprint for becoming Rick Hedrick. It is an invitation to examine your own life.

Measured in Seconds combines personal story with practical reflection on hardship, failure, leadership, family, career reinvention, time, and legacy.

Rick shares his journey not because his path is the answer, but because every life is shaped by choices made in ordinary moments. The question is not whether your starting line was perfect. The question is what you do with the seconds you still have.

Choices · Leadership · Family · Time · Legacy

THE STORY BEHIND THE MESSAGE

One Story. Not the Answer.

Rick Hedrick grew up in rural Kentucky, served twenty years in the United States Air Force, retired as a Master Sergeant, started over in civilian life, and eventually advanced into senior executive leadership.

Along the way came failure, marriage, fatherhood, career changes, loss, achievement, and the realization that success alone is not the final measurement of a life.

Rick doesn’t tell people to follow his path.

He challenges them to pay attention to their own.
